This is the "Gala Brooch," named in honor of the wife of Salvador Dali. This sensuous, sculptural, sterling silver pin, created using the ancient lost-wax casting technique, has a lustrous, satiny finish, and perched on top is a gemball of genuine Baltic amber. Approximately 2-1/2" tall, it features a pin-joint and catch mechanism on the back carved by hand in one solid piece, rather than being a store-bought piece soldered on.
