"Scanners" #1 Necklace

I was inspired to create this necklace after a visit to the Alexander McQueen exhibit, Savage Beauty, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (see bottom image, the McQueen dress made of embroidered burlap, entitled "Scanners"). The shapes are made of copper, a reference to humble burlap, with gemstone beads attached (embroidered?) by means of copper wire woven in and out of holes drilled in the copper sheet. The neckpiece is made of wiry-looking, but actually very soft, yarn (another reference to burlap), braided with copper-plated, stainless-steel cable for strength. All findings are copper and custom made.
