Combining acrylic medium with beach sand from our own Baja del Mar beach makes for a super-tough, permanent surface when adhered to 16-gauge copper sheet. The brown sand is the most common; the black sand, undoubtedly volcanic, appears in small areas now and then.
This approximately 7.5 x 8-inch piece is mounted on a handmade, stained base of Alder wood.
