I had an urge to work in a blue palette, so I went with it. The transparent enamel on 18-ga. copper shapes feature my two favorite shades of blue enamel: Water Blue and Nitric Blue. I etched the copper with little squiggles prior to enameling.
The enameled shapes are strung on steel cable, with aquamarine beads in between. I then braided three shades of blue silky cord over and around the beads and cable, loosely at first and then a tighter braid towards the neck. Total length: 20 inches.
It's finished with a handmade, sterling silver hook-and-eye clasp and, at my wife's suggestion, I allowed the leftover cord to remain and hang down in the back.
