First, the Sparkle; Then, the Burn

First, I did an experiment with embedding coarse sand in enamel, for a small pendant. When that came out as an interesting success, I wanted to embed something sparklier, so I took some Quartz crystal beads and smashed them with a hammer, embedding those pieces in the clear, base layer of this piece.

The 2-1/2 x 5-inch sculpture sits atop a 2-1/2-inch-tall wooden base, and features two dangling, clear Quartz faceted beads.
