I was at a flea market in Los Angeles, where there were a number of merchants selling beads and other items imported from Africa. These beautifully-graphic beads are made of bone (they said, though I didn't ask whose).
They hung around for a while, waiting for an inspired choice of pendant to hang from them. Nothing clicked, so, eventually I decided to make a pendant specifically for these beads.
Approx. 2.5-inches tall, the pendant is off-white and black opaque enamel on copper. The beads are strung on very strong steel cable, with a handmade sterling silver clasp.
